Who we are
Impact Energy, S.A.

Impact Energy, S.A.

A Honduran clean energy startup founded to develop Solar+Storage projects with measurable social and environmental impact — built on a decade of proven operations in the field.

🚀

The Start Up

Impact Energy, S.A. was founded to bring next-generation Solar+Storage technology to the communities that need it most in Honduras. Our flagship project, EcoPatuca, is a 2.5 MW solar farm paired with 10 MWh of battery storage, ENEE-authorized for grid interconnection to the CHI-L362 circuit at 34.5 kV in Patuca, Olancho.

✓ Operating since 2015
💧

Our Heritage: Ecoenergia, S.A.

Our founding team previously developed, financed, built, and has been successfully operating a run-of-river hydropower plant in Patuca since 2015 through Ecoenergia, S.A. — demonstrating 10+ years of capacity to deliver renewable energy infrastructure in Honduras, including ENEE grid connection and deep community integration.

Our family has been operating since 1965 the farm where the Ecopatuca projects are located.

Development stages
1
✓ Operational since 2015

Stage 1 — Hydropower (Ecoenergia, S.A.)

1 MW run-of-river hydropower plant, built and operating in Patuca. Proven ENEE grid connection, community relationships and 10 years of operational data that underpin our credibility with regulators, communities and investors.

2
⚡ ENEE Authorized — Seeking financing

Stage 2 — Solar + BESS (Impact Energy, S.A.)

2.5 MW solar + 10 MWh battery storage. ENEE interconnection approved (Oficio SUPID-019-I-2026, January 2026). Full feasibility study complete. Now seeking equity partners, impact investors, accelerators and grants to execute construction.

3
Planned

Stage 3 — Community development fund

Electricity sales revenues fund environmental education, watershed restoration and carbon sequestration across the 635 km² Patuca watershed — creating a self-sustaining model replicable across rural Latin America.

Why it matters

Environmental, Social & Economic Impact

🌿

Climate mitigation

~2,600 tonnes CO₂ avoided per year, replacing fossil-fuel peaker generation during evening peak hours on the CHI-L362 circuit, Olancho.

Grid stability & quality

Battery dispatch reduces peak-hour strain on Chichicaste substation. Reactive compensation of 0.65 MVAR per ENEE technical requirements.

👷

Local employment

Construction and long-term O&M create skilled jobs in Patuca — a municipality of 28,307 with high youth unemployment and HDI below national average.

🌊

Watershed restoration

Stage 3 uses energy revenues to fund reforestation, environmental education and carbon sequestration across the 635 km² Patuca watershed.

🔋

Energy access at night

The 10 MWh BESS ensures reliable electricity during 6–10 PM — when families and small businesses need it most but the grid is most stressed.

🗺

Replicable model

A solar+hydro+storage+community development model designed to be replicated in similar rural municipalities across Central America and beyond.
